About Our Founder

Sophia Sun founded Seniors Cancer Foundation at 14-years-old after witnessing the impact cancer had on her own family. Five of her closest family members were diagnosed with cancer, and three sadly passed away. Through their journeys, she saw that cancer affected more than physical health — it brought emotional hardship for patients and their loved ones.

Sophia recognized a major gap in cancer care: while seniors are among the demographic most likely to be diagnosed with cancer, they are often among the least emotionally supported. Seniors Cancer Foundation was created to provide the resources her loved ones needed, ensuring seniors facing cancer never feel alone.
